THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING REVIEWED
“This Changes Everything” is informative, but so much of the feature feels like a Naomi Klein infomercial. While Klein is preaching to the choir in terms of discussing climate change with a cross cultural appeal, there’s nothing new here. I get that putting climate change into existential terms helps to sell it to the masses. What I don’t enjoy is the end result of yelling into the void.
More than anything, it reminds me of everything that I find frustrating about Leftist American culture. There are far more noble intentions on the Left, but the newer/louder proponents want a medal for expressing concern for the larger scale at every turn. The documentary is all about the message and little about proactive action. At best, it’s the best narrated lecture you ever heard. At worst, it’s more of the same from the people who are going to promise us a Trump presidency.
