Sleep tells the chilling story of newlyweds Hyun-su and Soo-jin, whose peaceful domestic life is shattered when Hyun-su begins to speak in his sleep, ominously declaring, “Someone’s inside.” Each night, Hyun-su inexplicably transforms into someone else, with no memory of his actions the following day. As his sleepwalking episodes grow more intense, Soo-jin is consumed by fear that Hyun-su might harm himself, her, or their unborn child. Despite seeking treatment, the situation spirals out of control, leading Soo-jin to believe that their family is in grave danger.
SLEEP is the debut feature from director Jason Yu, who previously worked with renowned Korean filmmakers Bong Joon-ho and Lee Chang-dong. The film made its world premiere at Cannes’ Critics’ Week, where it was met with critical acclaim.
