“Road Hard” is a dark comedy about a comedian trying to put his life together. Breaking out of his television career, Bruce Madsen hits the road again to connect to his roots. While trying to provide for his daughter, he learns what made him love comedy in the first place. Adam Carolla is funny in it, so don’t expect some over-emotional piece of work. It’s just that you’ve seen this movie before.
The supporting cast sports stellar efforts from Jay Mohr, David Koechner and David Alan Grier. It’s just that outside of the few moments of amazing stand-up, the actual dramatics of the film don’t mean anything. You’ve seen these stories go dark or go light. If they go in-between, then why bother? The film sports a solid 1080p transfer and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 master audio track. The Blu-Ray comes with featurettes, promo and outtakes as the special features.
