Rain Parade to Release Deluxe Reissue of Emergency Third Rail Power Trip and New Single Surprise, Surprise on December 13, 2024

Legendary Paisley-Underground band Rain Parade is set to release a deluxe two-disc edition of their 1983 debut album, Emergency Third Rail Power Trip, alongside a new digital two-song single, Surprise, Surprise (Bubba O’Riley Remix) / Bee and His Buzz, on December 13, 2024.

The deluxe edition will feature a remastered version of the original album, along with bonus tracks including demos, live performances, and rehearsal recordings—many of which have never been heard before. The album has been remastered by Rain Parade producer Jim Hill and will be available as a black vinyl double LP and as a double CD. The second disc of rarities and the packaging will include extensive liner notes and photos, offering fans a comprehensive look at the band’s rich history.

Rain Parade has continued to stay active since their 2023 comeback album, Last Rays of a Dying Sun. After a successful UK acoustic tour and a well-received West Coast tour with The Third Mind, the band has continued to create new material. Their upcoming album, set for 2025, promises to continue their legacy of blending 60s psychedelia with modern influences.

The Surprise, Surprise single, also out December 13, features a remix of the track by Bubba O’Riley, and it showcases the band’s continued evolution with fresh new material. The band’s lineup includes original members Matt Piucci, Steven Roback, and drummer/percussionist Stephan Junca, along with guitarist John Thoman and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Derek See.
