MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 REVIEWED
“Mystery Science Theater 3000” has had a long storied history on home video. That means past volumes go out-of-print and nerds cut each other’s throats on the secondary markets for copies. Shout Factory is helping the issue by re-releasing past volumes in slender cases with all of your beloved memories of robots talking over public access films. While I can appreciate MST3K, I was never part of the target audience.
That being said, this volume thrives by including the industrial film shorts to poke fun at the various foibles of film. Well, specific films meant for the industrial sector. Let’s just put it this way, the movies are horrible and the robots are funny. I say this while looking at a full size maquette of the Purple Robot. Was I a fan? Why don’t I remember things? What’s this post-note attached to the monitor?
To be continued in MST3K Volume Three.
