MY BLUE HEAVEN REVIEWED
“My Blue Heaven” came about because a married couple (Pileggi and Ephron) mined the same source material in the late 1980s. While Pileggi would go on to write “Goodfellas”, Nora Ephron decided to make a funnier take with “My Blue Heaven”. Honestly, I love to pair the two films as a Part I and Part II. I like to imagine Steve Martin being the funnier Henry Hill who tries to make the most of Witness Protection. He makes old friends, finds a new job and gets to teach Rick Moranis how to dance. All the friends Ray Liotta made in Goodfellas are either in jail or dead. You tell me which one ended up working better!
