LOVING PABLO REVIEWED
“Loving Pablo” is a film about a foreign journalist recounting her early 80s love affair with Pablo Escobar. She hated the man he became, but merely loved him as a low-level dealer. By low-level, I mean just running things in Colombia. That’s the thing about tackling Escobar. The dude was always a success and had most of the bigger Western nations working with him from the start. So, a love story about him feels like garbage.
Is it possible for a woman to find something about Escobar to love? Sure. However, you shouldn’t try to filter history to create a tale about a loveable killer. It’s sick and no different than a jailhouse romance. Hard pass.
