“The Lizzie Borden Chronicles” is an eight episode mini series that plays fast and loose with facts. But, this is a historical crime piece being aired on Lifetime. If that’s not enough of a read for you, then give it a break. Borden did become a public figure after being cleared for her parents’ deaths. But, did she have an Inspector Javert type chasing her through New England? Not quite.
Still, Lifetime knows what The Lizzie Borden Chronicles was meant to be. Lizzie Borden is portrayed by Ricci as a firebrand that walks that thin edge between fame and insanity. Does anything matter post brush with fame related death? Look at the Coward Robert Ford and O.J. Simpson. Sometimes going free is the far more damning fate. The DVD comes with deleted scenes and a gag reel as the special features.
