THE LAW AND JAKE WADE REVIEWED
“The Law and Jake Wade” is quite the nasty Western for the late 1950s. Jake Wade is a criminal turned lawman who has a hankering for the past. While has to deal with a newly returned partner, Wade works out a scheme to get the best of both sides of the Law. What follows could only exist in the Production Code’s blindspot. Not enough film fans understand the weird dichotomy of the 1950s studio system.
If you’re a Western fan, this quite the visual feast. Snowcapped mountains, deep deserts and well designed sets blend together to showcase a rather stunning Western tale of double-crossing. Pickj this one up. You won’t be disappointed.
