IFC Films and Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and supernatural content, have officially acquired the North American rights to the upcoming comedic slasher Get Away.
Directed by Steffen Haars and written by Nick Frost (Paul, How to Train Your Dragon), the film stars Frost, Aisling Bea (This Way Up), Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper), and newcomer Maisie Ayres. Get Away, which was previously titled Svalta, is set to world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2024 in September, with a theatrical release slated for December 6, 2024, followed by its debut on Shudder in 2025.
In Get Away, a family’s idyllic vacation to a remote island quickly turns into a nightmare when they discover that the seemingly peaceful getaway is home to a relentless serial killer.
The film is financed by XYZ Films, with production handled by John Hegeman of Wayward Entertainment, Lee Kim of Resolute Films, and Nick Frost. Richard Kondal of Big Safari served as co-producer, with executive producers Vince Totino of Wayward Entertainment and Patrick Fischer of Creativity Capital.
