“Gunland” is a serious look at how the Mexican drug trade has caused Chicago violence to approach near Iraq levels. Gun deaths are at epidemic levels, while no one in the city has an idea of how to fight the issue. There are plenty of talking heads and shrugs to go along with them. I love this kind of material, but I hate that the documentary was under an hour in length. I demand an in-depth study of these matters!
The DVD comes with deleted scenes and extended interviews as the special features. The A/V Quality is typical for a documentary and well worth a purchase.
