THE FLASH: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON REVIEWED
“The Flash” makes its second year debut with a smash. After fighting the Atom Smasher, Barry Allen learns of the existence of Earth-2 and the greater Multiverse. When Earth-2 Flash (Jay Garrick) makes himself known, a larger world opens. Harrison Wells of Earth-2 is a good guy and puts the battle ahead into clear cut phrasing. Zoom exists to kill Speedsters and he awaits Barry. What is Zoom? Nothing more than the embodiment of all that’s evil about the Speed Force.
So much of this year was spent world building, as we had Arrow crossovers and groundwork established to launch “Legends of Tomorrow”. That being said, this level of expansion brings me a level of satisfaction that I never received from “Arrow”. The DC Cinematic Universe has squandered so much, so let’s get the bigger ideas on TV. Hell, they used the Bug Eyed Bandit last year. I never would’ve thought that would come to fruition.
While so much is promised to come next year, I’ve just been floored as a Flash fan. Knowing that the involvement of Geoff Johns supercharged so much, I’m excited to see what he can do for the DC film world. It’s an amazing time to be a mass media comic fan.
