DRUNK HISTORY REVIEWED
“Drunk History” returns for a third season. I was a fan of the show when it appeared in smaller shorts on Funny or Die. However, the material is rather informative. That is when you get past the drunker narrator and look at the recreations. Going around American and sampling Americana through a filter allows audiences to see something that they don’t get to see on the History Channel. American history has always been weird and it’s well worth a laugh. That’s when the narrator burps and we remember the conceit of the show.
While Season 2 remains the strongest in terms of educational moments, there are plenty of moments to enjoy in this outing. I included a clip from the Games episode at the top of the review, but I did dig the stuff with Roald Dahl. Luckily, the series knows not to go past 13 episode. The material is strong, but not strong enough to prolong. But, not everything can be “Tosh.0”.
