The creators of the beloved Cartoon Network series “Craig of the Creek” are bringing fans an all-new animated adventure with the release of “Craig Before The Creek.” This enchanting prequel movie will be available digitally on December 11, 2023, and on DVD March 26, 2024.
“Craig Before The Creek” explores the origin story of Craig and his best friends JP and Kelsey. This full-length film takes viewers back to a time before they were known as the Creek’s greatest explorer trio. Set to premiere on Cartoon Network on January 13, 2024, at 10:00 am ET/PT, with a repeat airing on January 14, the network will also feature a special marathon on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, including the original series, its spin-off “Jessica’s Big Little World,” and “Space Jam: A New Legacy.”
The film follows Craig as the new kid in town, longing for his old home and friends. When he learns about a hidden treasure in the nearby creek that could make his wish come true, Craig embarks on an adventurous journey. Along the way, he forges new friendships and faces a group of pirates threatening the Creek.
Featuring the voices of Philip Solomon as Craig, Noël Wells as Kelsey, and H Michael Croner as JP, the film promises to be a delightful treat. The cast also includes Vico Ortiz, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Byron Marc Newsome, Phil LaMarr, and Lucia Cunningham.
Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, the film is directed by creators Matt Burnett & Ben Levin, with a screenplay by the duo. The story is a collaborative effort involving multiple writers from the “Craig of the Creek” team.
