WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Craft in America: Holiday” is the latest in a long line of documentaries about crafting with creativity. Whether its gingerbread houses or mass Christmas decorations, this time of the year brings out a certain glee in American artisans. The documentary runs about an hour, but we get a great look at the differences in crafting across the nation. Harley Refsal is my favorite, as the woodcarver explains what’s going on alongside a decent history lesson. I would love to see a follow-up next year.
The DVD comes with no special features. The A/V Quality is on par for a PBS Documentary. Still, I wish we would get more of these releases in HD. But, I guess physical media is dying. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
