COMMUNITY REVIEWED
“Community” has been one of my favorite shows of the last decade. Naturally, the Internet got over it by the end of season two. One too many thematic episodes will do it for a generation too jaded for appointment television. But, it has become the show to root for as it stares down the least cerebral TV fare and tries to exist on America’s fourth place network. Things were going great for the Six Seasons and a Movie promise until NBC cancelled the series with Season 5.
The Final Season moved to Yahoo and everyone suffered. The Yahoo Screen plan worked as well as the many other offerings that Yahoo has decided to close. Video sputtered, forced ads and the incessant need to hype the Web Channel’s other shows didn’t provide for a worthwhile time. I missed two episodes of the season just because I couldn’t deal with having to wait for buffering and other issues to play out. So, what happened? If you actually get to watch the show, the show addresses its need to wrap things up.
While I appreciate Dan Harmon’s move to “Rick and Morty”, I still want to see a movie that provides a capper on everything that has gone down. This season was about maturing and moving past Greendale, but what happens next for everyone? I care about what becomes of Pierce, Troy, Abed, Jeff, Britta and Shirley. The less said about Paget Brewster…the better. Take the time to check it out.
