WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Explorer Koko” is the latest Chuggington adventure. I know Chuggington kids and I’m willing to bet that more of you know about Chuggington now. There’s something about talking vehicles and little kids that were meant to work together. I don’t know what makes it work, but these people just freaking love it. Who wouldn’t dig it?
Six episodes in 64 minutes. That’s not a long time to spin a disc and it sets off my video babysitter radar. I know that you’re not supposed to park a kid in front of the TV. But, if I do…I want a decent amount of time to do other crap. Hell, I let a 6 week old watching “The Addams Family” yesterday while I reviewed this. Would she have preferred trains? Who knows? Now, she knows about Gothic comedy and the kind of crap that makes Hot Topic employees giddy with ghoulish delight. That is if most Hot Topic employees aren’t too young to remember that movie.
The DVD comes with a bonus episode, character spotlight and DVD-ROM activities as the special features. The A/V Quality is on par with past kiddie releases. Still, the A/V Quality could’ve been punched up more. Everything looks so flat. In the end, I’d recommend a stream to parents of young kids.
