BANSHEE REVIEWED
“Banshee” is one of those shows that I have all but given hope on forward momentum. Amish guy is still weird and banging a relative. The Indians are still pissed and nobody really cares. All the while, we have the only real Sheriff left on TV that’s not named Longmire. I love seeing such ballsy pulp shows getting their shot on premium cable. It’s just that after the world building is done, when do we get to a major plot?
Lucas Hood is quite the formidable anti-hero, it’s just that in three years he hasn’t done much. The show is a potboiler, but the pots are never quite big enough to hold one’s attention. That’s coming from someone who spent years reading the lowest echelons of Detective Fiction. I don’t expect a lot, but I expect momentum. While that isn’t here, the oddity of the show is enough to elicit something from fans.
