“Ascension” is a Mad Men in Space style setup, but by way of a murder mystery. After learning of the secret history of a US Orion class project, we find out that a group of Americans are living aboard a rocket flying through space for the next century. But, what do they do when someone is killed? Quick! Grab a copy of “Outland”.
This is the kind of Science Fiction that I always wanted to see on SyFy. However, the material skews compact to make the mini-series flow. I’d like to see an attempt to revisit this world, but I’m not sure if it will ever happen. The DVD comes with a featurette as the solo special feature.
