AMERICAN PSYCHO 4K REVIEWED
“American Psycho” gets the 4K treatment from Lionsgate. Guess what, kids?!? It’s a true 4K master and it looks impeccable. While I wish the night exteriors had more pop, everything else shines. Hell, I could find a mistake on one of the bone business cards in the boardroom scene. If that wasn’t enough, I could read one of the menus when Bale and Witherspoon went out to eat. I could rant or rave about American Psycho, but I’m still floored by the visual quality.
During the infamous Phil Collins scored threeway with the hookers, I could see gaffer tape on the ground next to the bed. I’ve been waiting for a 4K disc to be this clear and Lionsgate has stepped up to the plate. The film itself still holds up. What’s funny is watching the film with modern kids. This is what they believe of the upper class, yet they can’t want for the offensive scenes. If anything, it’s a postmodern horror film about the collapse of America’s class system.
Plus, quality nudity and Huey Lewis!
