SILICON VALLEY: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON REVIEWED

“Silicon Valley” enters its fourth season by indulging the worst aspects of the show. While some have called this a slower year, it finally let the nerds act like real nerds. They’re petty, hateful and willing to tear each other apart at a moment’s notice. When that finally cools down, things shift. The shifting is going to make Season 5 so interesting. But, wasn’t that the lead-up to Season 3?

There comes a time when these HBO shows start bleeding into each other. Luckily, “Veep” is ending with Season 7. I appreciate it when shows think ahead and know that it’s time to go. I’m not sure what the future holds for “Silicon Valley”. Given T.J. Miller’s stated reasons for leaving the show, I don’t see the footing that the series has going forward. But, bigger shows have survived more and fared amazingly. Ultimately, what does that mean?

If I was casually viewing this show, this would be the point where I got off the ride. There comes a time when a series can treat its subjects far too accurately. Having dealt with a ton of these types over the last few years, it gets to be a bit much. I don’t need it bleeding into my entertainment.
