Who We Are Now is about the efforts of an ex-con to get her son back. What follows is a legal drama that wants to be more than the sum of its parts. Yet, it keeps falling on its face with such a star studded cast. If you want to see way talented people fight to get a kid back, then this is for you. Honestly, I’m not shocked that what amounts to a TV-movie didn’t blow the doors off the box office. It’s weird covering something like this.
The film isn’t bad enough to warrant slamming, yet it’s not good enough to deserve recognition. It just exists.
