THE VON TRAPP FAMILY: A LIFE OF MUSIC REVIEWED
“The Von Trapp Family” is a TV movie level adaptation of Agathe Von Trapp’s memoirs. Helping to put a bit of realism into the tale of “The Sound of Music” offers up something feeling limp. For those that don’t know the story of the Von Trapps, coming to this after the musical will be disappointing. Still, it handles the political and social realism of the family’s history with a degree of success. That being said, it’s not a film that actively demands your attention. Completists will want a rental, everyone else can skip.
