Jemaine Clement should be the lead in more movies.
“People Places Things” is a quiet domestic comedy drama about a divorced father trying to do his best for his daughters. While he meets a new woman, he’s not sure if he’s the right fit for her. All the while, he has to learn to tolerate his wife’s new love interest. Playing to the small goals and cherishing the weird blips in a normal life is unappreciated. I applaud the effort to make movies like this, but I get why they don’t win over a larger audience. Sometimes, you can play a film to close to the chest. That being said, Jemaine Clement is treading into Louis CK material and killing it. The DVD comes with no special features.
