THE PLOT THUS FAR
In October 2012, Superstorm Sandy cut a path of devastation across the Caribbean and the East Coast of the United States, killing hundreds and causing tens of billions of dollars in damage. One year after Sandy’s deadly strike, NOVA investigates the critical question raised by this historic storm: What can we do to prepare ourselves for the next Sandy?
WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Megastorm Aftermath” is a continued investigation into how Hurricane Sandy was allowed to have such an impact. Rather than trying to be an investigative expose, NOVA looks at the factors that caused Hurricane Sandy to happen. Then, they prep strategies for people in Hurricane prone areas to survive these storms. I wish we had more programs like this on the air. It seems, as though it takes current events to get the American mainstream to understand science.
The DVD comes with no special features. The A/V Quality is on par for a PBS Documentary. Still, I wish we would get more of these releases in HD. But, I guess physical media is dying. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
