Tobi is an aging bisexual ballet instructor from Julliard. A young married couple working on their dissertation has chosen to find me to close out their piece on the history of dance. The kicker is that the married guy believes that Tobi is his dad. That’s right, people. A film wants us to believe that Patrick Stewart could’ve spewed forth Matthew Lillard. Other than that bit of Science Fiction, the film is pretty believable.
Tobi knows that he has had a checkered past and he gets what’s going on. But, watching him toy with the couple is pretty amazing. It’s not “Virginia Woolf”, but it’s not far off from that kind of domestic toying. Thankfully, the movie is only 92 minutes long as you can only sustain that tension for a set amount of time. Patrick Stewart is thrilling throughout it, but I wish the rest of the cast could match up.
The DVD comes with a trailer as the sole special feature. The A/V Quality works pretty well. The standard definition transfer is supportable. The Dolby 5.1 track pushes all channels. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
