“A Time for Greatness” is a feature length documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman about the passage of the Civil Rights Act. Well, it’s specifically about LBJ using JFK’s assassination to gain easy passage of the Civil Rights Act. The film skirts around it being a political stunt, while playing up how it played into our greater history. I’m sorry, but I’m not willing to give LBJ a pass for living on the history and credit of others. This is a guy that made a killing off war profiteering by escalating the Vietnam conflict and having his wife’s helicopter company fulfill the initial first year’s orders. But, I guess that didn’t fit with the documentary’s agenda. The DVD comes with no special features.
