“Homeland” enters its fourth season with Claire Danes convincing Mandy Patinkin to do whatever she wants. This year was meant to be a soft reboot of the craziness that almost destroyed the show last year. That being said, it feels a little too late. I want crazy Carrie now and I can’t handle anything else.
Mandy Patinkin is going through the motions, while the show finds a new asset to infiltrate the Muslim underground. Everyone is used and I never buy Carrie as a CIA station chief. She seems to have fallen up into any position of power she achieves and I don’t ever get a reason why she’s not in a psych ward. Season 5 is a given and I’m not sure how much work they can keep throwing back on guest stars. Wrap it up, guys.
The Blu-Ray comes with character profiles and other featurettes as the special features. The A/V Quality is stunning, but on par with the past few seasons. The 1080p transfer is strong, but typical. The same goes for the DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track. In the end, it’s worth a purchase to fans.
