BILL & TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE REVIEWED
“Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” gets a re-release onto Blu-ray with a new steelbook case. I’ll never get the appeal of steelbook cases, when there are scores of films not available on Blu-ray. But, the market is there. The film remains the same. It’s an American comedy that apes Doctor Who while tweaking the dumb aspects of the Valley Girl phenom of the 1980s. Plus, it’s how I first learned about Napoleon Bonaparte as a child. Memories!
What’s sad is that long lost deleted scenes from Adventure weren’t recovered. I’d still love to see that film’s original ending. That being said, this release thrives on its reach and access. While not every fan favorite franchise can share in this sort of love due to mortality and cost…fans are lucky here. If you’re a Bill and Ted fan, then pick this one up. If I can own five copies of this movie, you can too!
