Adam Ant is unknown to about 80% of my readers.
“The Blueback Hussar” is a fascinating music documentary about Adam Ant. Arthouse director Jack Bond follows Ant’s career from the 1980s through today through the scope of Ant’s disappearance from public life. Bond works with Ant to discuss the artist’s lifelong battle with crippling depression and to see if he could possibly stage a comeback. Heavily medicated and attempting to reclaim his 1980s persona, we start seeing Ant through contemporaries and modern fans. Will it be enough for a man that has changed so much in the last 30 years? The DVD comes with a tone of featurettes and a Q&A from the Electric Ballroom. It’s fascinating, but I can’t recommend a purchase for anyone that’s not an Adam Ant fan.
