When I was watching “Absolution”, I realized that they had finally made a fat Batman movie. Watching Seagal slink in and out of coverage while taking out enemies was amazing. The film is about Seagal trying to find the right person to kill, so he can seek absolution. But, I don’t buy the argument that Fat Batman can walk away from killing. He’s too good at it.
What does happen is he meets a girl on the run from mob boss Vinnie Jones. Vinnie Jones is in full GUY RITCHIE I NEED WORK mode, but Seagal doesn’t care…he’s Fat Batman. Fat Batman also works for a government agency that’s poorly defined and doesn’t keep him stocked with Porkchop batarangs. Man, I love this goofy movie.
The Blu-Ray comes with a Digital HD copy, commentary, featurette, interviews and a trailer gallery as the special features. The A/V Quality is stunning for a Seagal DTV release. The 1080p transfer is crisp. Plus, the DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track keeps the action alive. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to Seagal fans.
