TREMORS: A COLD DAY IN HELL REVIEWED

“Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell” is a fascinating sixth film in the series. Knowing that DTV can only last in the original setting for so long, the Gummers take the action to the Great White North. Up there, the graboids are being weaponized to survive in different environments. Now, it’s time for the once and future Mr. Keaton to shoot big worms with his son. It’s the kind of movie that John Ford would make if I got to reanimate him all Stuart Gordon style.

While I’ve tuned in and out of the Tremors sequels, I hope that I wasn’t missing something here. The film isn’t amazing or holds a candle to the original. But, it’s cinematic DLC that plays with the fun of hunting graboids with allowing Michael Gross to shoot more guns than the Saint of Killers. Graboids spit venom now and a film plot point involves milking one. While it’s fun to play with the world like that, it just feels so B-movie tacked on.

Yes, that’s a real complaint I had about a movie with killer worms. I’ve officially lost it.
