“Hee Haw” arrives on DVD with a fresh 3 DVD collection from Time Life. Taking the best segments over 30 years, the release skews heavy on country superstars from the 70s and 80s. But, the material gives you a sense of what the show offered the world. Cornpone humor and two musical geniuses for hosts. First person to bad mouth Buck Owens gets banned from the site.
For those that are interested in that sort of thing, this release comes with most of the Conway Twitty appearances that Family Guy sampled. You can impress your 12 year old fans by laughing at a man who outperforms all of your current idols. Also, Loretta Lynn gets a few moments to shine.
The DVD comes with interviews and bonus skits as the special features. The A/V Quality is strong for a show of its age. That being said, I’d love to see the transfers cleaned up. The Dolby track is sourced off the original elements. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to fans.
