Styx plays better as a part of an anthology rather than standalone film. Why is that? Even though the film plays super short, it would work better playing shorter. The story is about a woman on a sailing trip that finds a cap-sized boat full of refugees. She can’t help all of them, but if she does nothing..they will drown.
The DVD comes with a commentary from the director and star. Still, I wish that this would have played as a much larger series. At times, it feels like a non Sci-Fi Black Mirror episode. Other times, it’s a prolonged melodrama. Oh well, I still dig it.
