Making A Killing follows a pair of morticians who a trying to make their way in New Mexico. Christopher Lloyd plays the older mortician fresh out of prison. The other mortician and his brother promised to watch the older guy’s rare coins. Now that the old man has come for his collection, the brothers have different plans. Michael Jai White shows up as the detective trying to piece together what’s happening, while Christopher Lloyd proves that he doesn’t work enough.
What makes this film crazier is that it’s based on a true story. Naturally, that means a lot of liberties were taken. After googling the real case, there wasn’t that many liberties that differentiated from the real deal. I truly enjoyed what I got to see here, but there is nothing here that really made me watch it again. The entire film played like a Coen Brothers flick without the good hearted humor.
It might be too dark for some, but I recommend it.
