A CIAMBRA REVIEWED
“A Ciambra” is another slice of ethnic ghetto crime from an international territory. Hell, I’ve seen some people compare it to City of God. However, this film skews very young and tends to make the material darker. There’s often fears of drowning in the nearby water and every present glass ceiling. I just wish we had something else to say about the conditions this film depicts. But, it’s not like the bonus short film says anything else.
Given that Scorsese produced this, it seems like there must have been something new to have been said. But, that’s a no. It still works.
