Fighting Back: A Vigilante Classic Makes its Debut
Arrow Video begins July with the release of the vigilante classic ‘Fighting Back’ on Blu-ray on the 4th. Directed by Lewis Teague, the film follows the story of a family man, John D’Angelo (Tom Skerritt), who forms a neighborhood patrol group after a brutal attack against his wife and mother. The film takes viewers through the hard-hitting action on the streets of Philadelphia as tensions escalate and the group turns vigilante.
The Blu-ray special edition includes new interviews with director Teague and camera operator Daniele Nannuzzi, a trailer, TV spot, and an illustrated collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by critics Rob Skvarla and Walter Chaw​​.
Scorsese’s Hugo in 4K: A Cinematic Love Letter
On July 18th, Arrow Video presents Martin Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’ on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Limited Edition. The Academy Award-winning film, based on the novel by Brian Selznick, celebrates an unabashed love for the magic of cinema and is making its 4K Ultra HD debut. The edition includes a plethora of special features, such as new interviews with the original novel’s author, the film’s composer, and acclaimed film historian Ian Christie​​.
Blood Money: Four Western Classics Vol. 2 – A Journey into Italian Westerns
Concluding the month on July 25th, Arrow Video continues its journey into Italian Westerns with ‘Blood Money: Four Western Classics Vol. 2’. The Limited Edition box set features four films, all brand new 2K restorations from the original 35mm camera negatives. Each film in the collection is introduced by journalist and critic Fabio Melelli and comes with a host of special features.
Disc 1: $10,000 Blood Money
Starring Gianni Garko and directed by Romolo Guerrieri, this story sees Django pitted against the criminal Manuel Vasquez, leading to a personal vendetta. The special features include new audio commentary and interviews with the director and actor Gianni Garko​.
Disc 2: Vengeance is Mine
This spiritual successor to $10,000 Blood Money again casts Gianni Garko and Claudio Camaso, this time as brothers on the opposite sides of a Civil War. The special features include new audio commentary and interviews with actor Gianni Garko and screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi​​.
Disc 3: Find a Place to Die
This men-on-a-mission film stars Jeffery Hunter as Joe Collins, a former soldier tasked with a daring rescue mission. The special features include a new audio commentary and an in-depth appreciation of the soundtrack and its composer, Gianni Ferrio​.
Disc 4: Matalo! (Kill Him)
In director Cesare Canevari’s Matalo!(Kill Him), a gang of outlaws hides out in a ghost town, only to realize they’ve underestimated the couple they’re terrorizing.
