THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES: SEASON TWO REVIEWED
“The Shannara Chronicles” enters its second season requiring me to keep a Wiki page open while watching the series. The most notable thing about this show is how fast MTV dumped it to the Paramount Network between seasons. Apparently, teenage boys weren’t keep the audience numbers up for the show at the former Music Television. Now, this foreign show gets to fight it out on the former Spike Channel. Between the now-dead Heathers and other shows, it appears that any show not featuring a Teen Mom is destined for Paramount Network.
If you’re a fan of the books or first season, you’re going to be onboard for this one. Honestly, the only fantasy series that stands out to me anymore is Game of Thrones. But, that takes the various aesthetic values that arrive from HBO series. I appreciate that something like this can have such high production values on basic cable. Still, it pains me how out of the target bracket I am now. If I was a middle/high school kid, I might be into this stuff. But, even then….I would’ve been more into Game of Thrones.
