“The Quest of Alain Ducasse” follows the elderly chef as he prepares to open a kitchen at the Palace of Versailles, then he travels the world. If you’re a chef or an extreme foodie, then this will be illicit material for you. Outside of that, it’s a lengthy stretch of an old man meticulously laying out his plans for presentation. Ducasse talks to the camera at times, but it’s not like the casual viewer will pick up anything new. Someone in your life will dig it, but I’m not sure. Approach carefully.
