It's a movie about mining and love!
“Mining for Ruby” is a cute little movie about finding love while mining in Alaska. The acting is admirable with several actors upping their game for the first time in years. Still, it’s a light trifle of a film that passes as basic entertainment. That’s enough for most people, but it doesn’t push folks into buying a copy. So, stream or picking up a digital copy if the option is available.
That being said, I’m loving the sheer amount of capable romantic dramas I’ve been seeing this year. After spending the better part of a decade in the Nicholas Sparks ghetto, it’s amazing that the genre broke out of that crap. If you want to see a film about finding love in a small town this is for you. If you don’t, don’t worry kids. You’ve got a few weeks before Hunger Games, Tarantino and Star Wars owns your brain.
