“Massacre Gun” is what happens when you push a hitman too far. Kuroda has been wronged, as the mob made him kill his lover. Now, he teams up with the wronged too murder the mafia. Well, I guess it would be the Yakuza. Everything goes great until a Turf War breaks out.
The film loving wants to ape American Film Noir, but with the rising violence of the new Japanese cinema. Yasuharu Hasebe directs the hell out of this feature with his monochrome presentation. Still, it’s a movie about revenge told through mood with few scenes of applied violence. This will put the mouth breathing types to sleep, but I hope that you stick with it.
The Blu-Ray comes with interviews, trailers and promotional images for the special features. The A/V Quality continues Arrow’s long line of astonishing presentations. The 1080p transfer is flawless. If that’s not enough, you get a PCM mono track that is true to the original audio mix. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
