“He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown” is a recent TV special about Charlie and Rerun at Summer Camp. Rerun gets conned by a camp bully, who steals his marbles. Now, Charlie Brown and the gang have to get them back. I’d like to tell you that this special changed the game for Peanuts continuity. I’d like to tell you that Linus strangled the bully to death with his blanket. But, that would just be giving the worst of you a degree of hope.
The special ends predictably, as they have done for the last 50 years. You also get four shorts from the Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. While I love the Peanuts onslaught due to the movie coming out in November, I have to say that I’m feeling a bit oversaturated. It would be one thing if we were getting the shorts and movies restored to Blu-Ray. But, this just feels like a quick push to capture recent material for young audience attention. That being said, fans will want to buy it.
