“The Guardsman” is a film about the Japanese Emperor traveling in secret. He want to understand the issues facing his people, but he is easily attacked by pirates. Now, a team of local and loyal warriors must help him stay alive. It’s a fairly standard Asian period piece. There just comes a point where you have to ask why they keep getting released! How many times must we see the same film over and over again. But, I’m sure Asia said the same about the proliferation of late era American Westerns. The DVD comes with a trailer gallery as the sole special feature.
