Watermelon Pictures is proud to announce the digital and VOD release of the eye-opening documentary, Israelism, on June 7th. Directed by Erin Axelman and Sam Eilertsen, this compelling film explores the dramatic shift in Jewish attitudes towards Israel, highlighting a deepening generational divide over modern Jewish identity and Israel’s treatment of Palestinians.
Story of a Generational Divide
The documentary follows two young American Jews, Simone Zimmerman and Eitan, who were raised to staunchly defend Israel. Eitan joins the Israeli military, while Simone advocates for Israel on American college campuses. Their perspectives change dramatically when they witness Israel’s mistreatment of Palestinians, leading them to join a movement of young American Jews challenging the traditional narratives about Israel and advocating for Palestinian freedom.
