What is The Line?

In The Line, Alex Wolff stars as Tom, a scholarship student determined to break free from the limitations of his working-class background. Lured by the prestigious KNA fraternity, Tom believes he can secure high social status and valuable alumni connections. However, when he starts a romance with Annabelle (played by Halle Bailey), a fellow student outside of his elite social circle, the allure of fraternity life begins to unravel.

As Tom becomes entangled in the manipulative schemes of the fraternity president (Lewis Pullman) during the intense hazing rituals, he is thrust into a dangerous game where ambition and loyalty are put to the ultimate test.

Ethan Berger makes his directorial debut

The Line marks the directorial debut of Ethan Berger, who has made a name for himself in the industry with a background in film studies from Wesleyan University. Raised in Los Angeles, Berger transitioned from editing to crafting commercials for major brands, including Jordan Brand and Stella Artois.

He was also a writer and producer for ESPN’s mini-series More Than an Athlete, which chronicled the rise of LeBron James and his circle. With The Line, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival in the summer of 2023, Berger brings his unique vision and storytelling skills to the big screen.
