“The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin” is an extended documentary that looks at crypto currency. The documentary works as a strong primer on how Bitcoin and similar currencies work. But, we get a lot of grandstanding and lip service paid towards the mining market. Honestly, it’s no different than how the American currency system developed in the 19th Century. It’s just so damn democratic now.
The social and political impact of Bitcoin seems to be far more important than the actual mechanics of the currency. Honestly, the nature of just living yourself to the wind makes me antsy. That’s the reason I stopped mining and I see the fear on display at certain parts of the documentary. The DVD comes with bonus footage as the special features.
