June is not only a month of vibrant celebrations but also a time to embrace powerful stories of identity and resilience. This year, Pride Month gets a significant boost with the release of QUEEN TUT on VOD and DVD. Directed by Reem Morsi and starring the multi-award-winning actress Alexandra Billings (Transparent), Queen Tut promises to be a heartwarming and inspirational queer tale that you won’t want to miss. The film will be available on June 11th across various platforms, including AppleTV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, VUDU, and more.
A Story of Self-Discovery and Empowerment
Described as “heartwarming and inspiring” by Anne Brodie of What She Said, Queen Tut follows the journey of Egyptian teenager Nabal (Ryan Ali). After losing his mother, Nabal leaves Cairo to live with his father in Toronto. Immersed in the underground queer nightlife, he finds solace and a new sense of identity in the world of drag. Under the guidance of trans drag mother Malibu (Alexandra Billings), Nabal transforms into Queen T, embracing his true self.
Ray Murray, President of Cinephobia Releasing, shares his admiration for the film: “I was surprisingly captivated by Queen Tut, a family-friendly tale of a young man coming out in a supportive world of drag queens and trans people. I was uplifted and thoroughly entertained.”

Filmed in the vibrant heart of Toronto’s Gay Village, Queen Tut has already made waves on the festival circuit. It premiered at Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival and has been featured at OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Miami, Out on Film Atlanta, the Way Out West Film Festival, and the Desperado LGBTQ+ Film Festival.
