THE PERFECT CRIME REVIEWED
“The Perfect Crime” is a quick hour long documentary about Leopold & Loeb. While the two did murder a kid, the documentary focuses on the legal approach taken by Clarence Darrow. Basically, Darrow wanted to show that a murderer’s childhood could shape their future. Taking place during the early days of Capone’s Chicago, the trial put morality on the front burner for the American legal system. It didn’t do much against the death penalty, but it was the first serious examination of the process during the 20th Century.
