MURDER OF A PRESIDENT REVIEWED
“Murder of a President” is the extended details of the botched assassination of President Garfield. While most readers don’t study assassinations like I do, the documentary spends two hours showcasing how flawed 19th century medicine was for even the wealthy. Alexander Graham Bell and others devised medical devices to save the President’s life. However, they splintered the bullet and drove fragments deeper into his body. What could’ve been a non mortal wound led to gangrene and other complications. While some good was accomplished, the documentary showcases how everything can go wrong fast.
