“Live from the House of Soul” is the latest Charles Bradley documentary. I love live musical performances recorded on film, but I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of either Charles Bradley or the Menahan Street Band. There is a proud history behind the emerging Daptone sound, but that throwback style isn’t for everyone. If you’re into Sharon Jones or Antibalas, it might work for you. The documentary runs short, so think of it more as a visual EP album than an actual concert film.
